Chosen 17th of October, in the Year of Quiet Hauntings.

Placed into the Kingdom of Denmark.

Turnip is a handmade collectible Samhain Harbinger Familiar figurine created by The Nordic Ghost Merchants in Denmark, inspired by old Scandinavian folklore, autumn omens, and the Familiars recorded throughout Merchant accounts.

The Familiars do not belong to the guild. Not exactly.

They were never apprenticed, never sworn in, never given a merchant's mark. They simply... arrived. As cats do. And having arrived, they stayed. As cats do. They learned the rhythms of the guild; the long hours, the careful work, the particular silence of a room where old things are being recorded. And they decided this was acceptable.

They are not catalogued in the Merchant's Ledger.

They are aware of this. They have opinions about it that they have chosen not to share.

The Samhain Harbinger Familiars are most often recorded during the weeks when autumn begins to lean toward winter. Their arrival is noted around dusk, after rain, and wherever the last orange light gathers low against the ground. Whether they travel with the Harbingers or simply appear at the same time each year remains unresolved

Turnip is most often recorded near baskets of late-autumn produce, particularly where root vegetables, windfall apples and pumpkins have been brought in from the cold.

He has a habit of settling himself among them and remaining completely still until someone reaches into the basket.

Merchant records describe this as “unhelpful.”

Turnip appears unconcerned.

One account also notes that the tip of one ear had taken on the colour of autumn leaves after he was found sleeping beneath a pile of fallen beech.

Whether this was seasonal staining or something more peculiar remains unresolved.

Turnip the ghost cat figurine stands at 5 cm in height.
