The Last Sheaf is a small collection of six dark harvest spirits, created in honour of the old customs surrounding the closing of the harvest season.

Upon the body of every spirit is a small wheatsheaf mark. The same mark recorded beside certain late summer entries in the Merchants’ Guild archives.

The reason for its appearance has never been satisfactorily established.

What is known is that spirits bearing the mark have traditionally been documented only after the final cutting.

The Guild advises that they be treated with courtesy.

Several Guild accounts describe Niels standing motionless among the cut stalks after dusk, as though listening to something beneath the field. If the remaining grain begins to rustle when there is no wind, old instructions advise leaving before he turns to look at you.

Every piece is then airbrushed and detailed by hand, giving it the same shadowed eyes and inky tears as its hand poured sibling. This delivers the same emotion, the same murmur of old grief, carried in a new vessel.
