They learned the rhythms of the guild; the long hours, the careful work, the particular silence of a room where old things are being recorded. And they decided this was acceptable.

They are aware of this. They have opinions about it that they have chosen not to share.

Midge has been observed keeping close to the Harbingers, although no formal arrangement appears to exist.

He has developed a particular habit of appearing shortly before changes to the Shelves and then behaving as though his presence is entirely coincidental.

Ambrose has attempted to determine whether Midge knows something in advance.
