The Eldritch are ghosts of that patience. Of centuries of Scandinavian winters leaving their mark on everything they touched.

They are not frightening. They are simply very, very old.

Severus is said to have lingered in the places winter was slowest to surrender; north-facing stone, deep shade, and hollows where frost remained long after the thaw.

Even when the snow had vanished elsewhere, a thin skin of ice still held there, darkened by earth and age.

Severus remembers the winters that refused to leave quietly.
