The Eldritch are ghosts of that patience. Of centuries of Scandinavian winters leaving their mark on everything they touched.
They are not frightening. They are simply very, very old.
Oswin is said to have lingered where sheets of ice clung to exposed stone long after the rest of the snow had gone.
When the thaw finally came, water dragged soot, earth and fragments of weathered rock down the surface beneath it.
Oswin still carries the marks of every retreating winter.
