Njal carries a deep river of darkness down his form, surrounded by smaller marks like thawwater caught before it could fall. He is drawn to old roof timbers and places where melting snow once found its way indoors. Njal does not consider a stain to be damage. To him, it is simply proof that something endured long enough to be marked.
