The Eldritch are ghosts of that patience. Of centuries of Scandinavian winters leaving their mark on everything they touched.

They are not frightening. They are simply very, very old.

Layla is said to have lingered where snow lay against the same stone wall for months at a time. By the thaw, the frost had retreated, but the pale scars and dark speckling remained upon her.
