Eydis carries the dark of midwinter across her crown, with long marks beneath her eyes like meltwater running down old stone. She prefers the quiet places beneath eaves and bare branches, where the sky can be watched without interruption. It is said that Eydis always knows when snow is coming, though she has never once thought to warn anyone.
