The Familiars do not belong to the guild. Not exactly.

They were never apprenticed, never sworn in, never given a merchant's mark. They simply... arrived. As cats do. And having arrived, they stayed. They learned the rhythms of the guild; the long hours, the careful work, the particular silence of a room where old things are being recorded. And they decided this was acceptable.

They are not catalogued in the Merchant's Ledger.

They are aware of this. They have opinions about it that they have chosen not to share.

Lenore is most often found facing doors that have not been opened in years.

She does not scratch at them.
She does not call attention to them.
She simply sits and waits.

On two occasions, old inventory records were later discovered to reference rooms no longer shown on the Repository plans.

Ambrose has requested that Lenore stop encouraging architectural speculation.
