The Familiars do not belong to the guild. Not exactly.

They were never apprenticed, never sworn in, never given a merchant's mark. They simply... arrived. As cats do. And having arrived, they stayed. They learned the rhythms of the guild; the long hours, the careful work, the particular silence of a room where old things are being recorded. And they decided this was acceptable.

They are not catalogued in the Merchant's Ledger.

They are aware of this. They have opinions about it that they have chosen not to share.

Abra is most often found near old thresholds, where the timber has darkened with age and the floorboards remember too many footsteps.

He has a habit of appearing shortly before something is discovered that was thought to be lost. Whether he helps, or merely watches, remains unclear.

He has never answered when asked.
