The Familiars do not belong to the guild. Not exactly.

They were never apprenticed, never sworn in, never given a merchant's mark. They simply... arrived. As cats do. And having arrived, they stayed. They learned the rhythms of the guild; the long hours, the careful work, the particular silence of a room where old things are being recorded. And they decided this was acceptable.

They are not catalogued in the Merchant's Ledger.

They are aware of this. They have opinions about it that they have chosen not to share.

Biscuit was first noticed sitting in places he should not have been able to reach.

No ladder was found.
No shelf was disturbed.
No explanation has been recorded.

He has since been observed appearing beside sealed boxes, forgotten bundles of paperwork, and one locked drawer that Ambrose is quite certain was shut the evening before.

Whether Biscuit is responsible for these small irregularities remains unconfirmed.

He continues to deny nothing.
