Placed into the Kingdom of Denmark.

The Familiars do not belong to the guild. Not exactly.

They were never apprenticed, never sworn in, never given a merchant's mark. They simply... arrived. As cats do. And having arrived, they stayed. They learned the rhythms of the guild; the long hours, the careful work, the particular silence of a room where old things are being recorded. And they decided this was acceptable.

They are not catalogued in the Merchant's Ledger.

They are aware of this. They have opinions about it that they have chosen not to share.

Balthazar has been observed spending considerable amounts of time near the oldest sections of the Repository.

Nobody recalls assigning him there.

He appears particularly interested in shelves containing records that predate the current Guild, and has on several occasions been found sitting directly beneath documents marked DO NOT REMOVE.

Ambrose has asked whether this behaviour is deliberate.

Balthazar has provided no response.
