The Familiars do not belong to the guild. Not exactly.

They were never apprenticed, never sworn in, never given a merchant's mark. They simply... arrived. As cats do. And having arrived, they stayed. They learned the rhythms of the guild; the long hours, the careful work, the particular silence of a room where old things are being recorded. And they decided this was acceptable.

They are not catalogued in the Merchant's Ledger.

They are aware of this. They have opinions about it that they have chosen not to share.

Tobias has developed a particular interest in records nobody else remembers making. He spends long periods beside the oldest ledgers and has, on several occasions, appeared to be waiting for a page to turn by itself. No explanation has been provided.
