Kattegat Ghost - Skadi
Awarded Entity Number - LB1132-TKS
Chosen 17th of July in the Year of Quiet Hauntings
Placed into Custodianship in the Kingdom of Denmark.
The Kattegat is not a kind sea. It is the strait between Denmark and Sweden where the North Sea meets the Baltic. It's a place of cold currents and old memories. Fishermen who worked these waters did not speak of what they saw beneath the surface. They did not need to. The sea remembers on their behalf.
The Kattegat Ghosts carry that water in them. Each one formed in the colours of an untamed Scandinavian Sea; pale fog, dark storms and the blue-grey of a sky that hasn't seen the sun in weeks. They arrived without warning. They may not stay.
Skadi came from somewhere colder than the Kattegat and has never once mentioned it. She does not find the northern sea particularly impressive. She does not find most things particularly impressive. She arrived in her own time, by her own route, and has shown no interest in explaining herself to anyone. She is not unfriendly. She simply has standards.
Skadi the ghost figurine stands at just short of 9 cm.
