Kattegat Ghost - Sjö

Sale price245,00 kr

The Kattegat is not a kind sea. It is the strait between Denmark and Sweden where the North Sea meets the Baltic. It's a place of cold currents and old memories. Fishermen who worked these waters did not speak of what they saw beneath the surface. They did not need to. The sea remembers on their behalf.

The Kattegat Ghosts carry that water in them. Each one formed in the colours of an untamed Scandinavian Sea; pale fog, dark storms and the blue-grey of a sky that hasn't seen the sun in weeks. They arrived without warning. They may not stay.

Sjö does not make herself known. She is simply present, the way a reflection is present, the way fog is present. Those who find her tend to feel they have been looking at her for quite some time without realising it. She does not mind. She is used to being seen slowly. She has always been the water that looks like sky

Sjö the ghost figurine stands at just short of 9 cm.
