Kattegat Ghost - Menja

The Kattegat is not a kind sea. It is the strait between Denmark and Sweden where the North Sea meets the Baltic. It's a place of cold currents and old memories. Fishermen who worked these waters did not speak of what they saw beneath the surface. They did not need to. The sea remembers on their behalf.  

The Kattegat Ghosts carry that water in them. Each one formed in the colours of an untamed Scandinavian Sea; pale fog, dark storms and the blue-grey of a sky that hasn't seen the sun in weeks. They arrived without warning. They may not stay.

Menja and Fenja arrived together. They always do. They have not spoken to each other since they got here, or so it appears, but those who watch closely notice that they are never entirely out of sight of one another. They ground something between them once. Neither will say what. The Kattegat keeps their secret.
