Kattegat Ghost - Kaia

The Kattegat is not a kind sea. It is the strait between Denmark and Sweden where the North Sea meets the Baltic. It's a place of cold currents and old memories. Fishermen who worked these waters did not speak of what they saw beneath the surface. They did not need to. The sea remembers on their behalf.  

The Kattegat Ghosts carry that water in them. Each one formed in the colours of an untamed Scandinavian Sea; pale fog, dark storms and the blue-grey of a sky that hasn't seen the sun in weeks. They arrived without warning. They may not stay.

Kaia is not always visible. This is not a warning, it is simply how she is. She comes and goes with the morning fog, and those who have seen her are never entirely certain they did. She is not hiding. She is merely somewhere between here and elsewhere, as she has always been. She finds the distinction unimportant
