Kattegat Ghost - Fenja

Sale price245,00 kr

The Kattegat is not a kind sea. It is the strait between Denmark and Sweden where the North Sea meets the Baltic. It's a place of cold currents and old memories. Fishermen who worked these waters did not speak of what they saw beneath the surface. They did not need to. The sea remembers on their behalf.

The Kattegat Ghosts carry that water in them. Each one formed in the colours of an untamed Scandinavian Sea; pale fog, dark storms and the blue-grey of a sky that hasn't seen the sun in weeks. They arrived without warning. They may not stay.

Fenja rose from the Kattegat on a morning when the water was completely still. Nobody saw her arrive. By the time anyone looked, she was simply already there, as though the strait had always meant to produce her and had finally gotten around to it. She does not explain herself. She never has.

Fenja the ghost figurine stands at just short of 9 cm.
