Ghost Merchants Ledger Entry - The Windfall Ghosts

The Windfall Ghosts are a collection of handmade ghost figurines and ghost cat ornaments, made by The Nordic Ghost Merchants in Denmark. These ghost figurines are inspired by the first windfall apples of autumn.

There are old orchards where fallen fruit is never gathered after dusk.

The first windfalls of autumn are said to mark the point at which the orchard begins keeping its own account. Fruit found beneath the trees before morning may be taken. Fruit heard falling after dark is best left where it lies.

The Guild records the Windfall Ghosts as appearing shortly after the first fruit drops, most often between the outer rows where the grass has grown long. They are rarely seen arriving. By morning they are simply there, standing among the fallen apples as though they have been counting them.

Whether they guard the orchard, claim its offerings, or merely wait for something else to arrive has never been established.
