Ghost Merchants Ledger Entry - The Witnesses

The guild has always kept the fires. Long before the Lutheran reformation swept through Denmark in 1536, the merchants gathered at the midsummer bonfires. They gathered not for warmth, but for witness. When the Reformation came, it came fast and it came hard. The guild was scattered. The Impounded were seized. But four ghosts remained at the fire that Sankt Hans Eve, standing in the copper light until there was nothing left to stand witness to.

They have carried that firelight ever since.
