The same mark recorded beside certain late summer entries in the Merchants’ Guild archives.\u003cspan class=\"PDq2pG_selectionAnchor\"\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe reason for its appearance has never been satisfactorily established.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWhat \u003cem\u003eis\u003c\/em\u003e known is that spirits bearing the mark have traditionally been documented only after the final cutting.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eThe Guild advises that they be treated with courtesy.\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cem\u003eOld Guild accounts place Aksel at the edges of newly cut fields, where he is said to stand facing the empty stubble long after the harvesters have gone home.
